Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Credits Government for Pakistan’s Peaceful Global Image

Sialkot: (Web Desk) – Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said Pakistan has made unprecedented progress over the past 18 months and is now being recognised internationally as a symbol of peace rather than terrorism.

Addressing the annual convocation of a private college in Sialkot, he said the present government had achieved milestones unmatched in Pakistan’s 78-year history.

Khawaja Asif credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Field Marshal for helping facilitate a peace agreement between the United States and Iran, saying their efforts helped prevent further instability in the Middle East.

Highlighting the importance of education, the defence minister said an educated society could never default and urged students to continue learning throughout their lives. He welcomed the strong representation of women graduates, noting that they made up around 80 percent of the graduating class.

He also called for a uniform curriculum across the country to strengthen national identity and urged political leaders to focus on Pakistan’s development instead of confrontation. Khawaja Asif thanked the people of Sialkot, saying his political journey began in the city and his family would always remain indebted to its residents.
