Khawaja Asif Discusses Possible Military Trial for Imran Khan
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has indicated that a military trial for Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), appears increasingly likely based on the available evidence.
“Rubaroo” with host Shaukat Piracha, Asif also suggested that Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed might become an approver against Khan. This follows recent comments by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif, who stated that Hameed, previously under Khan’s command, had breached military regulations at the direction of political figures.

Gen Sharif had warned that utilizing military personnel for personal or political ends could lead to legal consequences, hinting at the potential for a military trial against Khan.During the “Rubaroo” segment, Asif speculated that Faiz Hameed, following his arrest, might provide details about his connections with the PTI founder, possibly seeking to shift responsibility onto Khan.
