Karachi woman stabs three children to death

KARACHI: In a deeply tragic incident, a woman allegedly killed her three children amid an ongoing custody dispute following her divorce, police said on Thursday. The incident occurred in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-VI area, according to ARY News.

Police confirmed that the victims were two boys and a girl, aged between 4 and 7 years. The children — identified as 7-year-old Zarar, 4-year-old Sania, and another young son — had been staying with their mother, as part of scheduled visits allowed after her divorce in September 2024.

According to initial police reports, the mother used a sharp-edged weapon to carry out the killings around midday. After committing the crime, she reportedly informed her ex-husband and other family members, and then contacted the police. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the mother present with the lifeless bodies of the children.

Police have since taken the woman into custody and recorded her statement. Authorities believe she may be suffering from psychological issues, and further investigations are ongoing to determine her mental state and the exact circumstances that led to this horrific act.

Law enforcement officials continue to probe the motive behind the killings, with a focus on the custody battle and the suspect’s mental health.
