Karachi court extends YouTuber Rajab Butt’s interim bail
Interim bail of YouTuber Rajab Butt extended until March 30
KARACHI (Web Desk) – A Karachi court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of YouTuber Rajab Butt in a blasphemy case until March 30. The hearing took place at the Central Sessions Court, where Butt appeared before the judge.
During the proceedings, the complainant’s counsel raised an objection over Butt’s late arrival, noting that the court session had started at 8:30 am but the accused appeared at 9:30 am. He requested cancellation of the interim bail, stating that the prosecution was prepared to present evidence while the defence counsel failed to appear.
The defence team explained that Rajab Butt’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, was on official leave. The court expressed displeasure over repeated absences by the defence and directed a formal application to be submitted in this regard. The defence subsequently requested an adjournment, which was granted by the court.
