In Ghotki district, Sindh, police reported that a journalist was killed and the assailant fled the scene. The body of journalist Bachal Ghanio has been moved to Obaro Hospital.
At the time of the attack, Ghanio was at his fields. The police are investigating the incident. The journalist’s son mentioned that his father had longstanding conflicts with certain community members. Although the disputes were believed to be resolved, Ghanio was still murdered. This conflict had previously led to an attack on him a few years ago.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has condemned the murder of Bachal Ghanio and called for the immediate arrest of the perpetrators. Shah also urged for an intensified crackdown on criminal activity in the area.
