Joe Root & Babar Azam Retain Top Spots in ICC Player Rankings

ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the latest rankings for Test, ODI, and T20I players, with England’s Joe Root maintaining his position as the world’s top-ranked Test batsman. Pakistan’s Babar Azam continues to shine, holding onto the top spot in the ODI rankings, while also making significant strides in the T20I rankings.

In the Test rankings, Joe Root remains the number one batsman, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam made a notable rise, climbing five places to reach 12th position. Mohammad Rizwan also gained two spots, securing 19th place, and Pakistan’s Shan Masood made an impressive jump, moving up 12 spots to 45th in the Test batsmen rankings.

Australia’s Travis Head continues to lead the T20I batsmen rankings, while Babar Azam advanced one place to secure 6th position. However, Pakistan currently does not have any representation in the top 10 T20I bowlers rankings.

In the ODI rankings, Babar Azam remains firmly at number one, followed by India’s Rohit Sharma in second place and Shubman Gill in third. On the other hand, Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman slipped one position to 18th in the ODI rankings.
