Perth (Web Desk) – Hinata Miyazawa and Riko Ueki both scored hat-tricks as Japan delivered a commanding 11-0 victory over India on Saturday, edging closer to the Women’s Asian Cup quarter-finals.
Yuzuki Yamamoto opened the scoring after just four minutes, and by half-time, Japan led 5-0, with Manchester United’s Miyazawa netting twice. The second half saw West Ham United’s Ueki score a rapid treble, while Miyazawa completed her hat-trick, rounding off a dominant team performance.
The result leaves Japan atop Group C with six points from two matches, having previously defeated Taiwan 2-0. They have scored 13 goals and have yet to concede. Taiwan and Vietnam each hold three points, while India remains at the bottom with none.

Earlier in the day, Taiwan revived their hopes of reaching the knockout stages with a 1-0 win over Vietnam in Perth’s sweltering conditions. Su Yu-hsuan scored the decisive goal in the 26th minute with a close-range header.
Vietnam, who opened their campaign with a 2-1 victory over India, struggled against Taiwan in near 40°C heat, managing only one shot on target despite late pressure.
North Korea, South Korea, host nation Australia, and reigning champions China have all already secured places in the quarter-finals with a game to spare.
