Jane Marriott, Bugti Discuss Balochistan Development Cooperation Plans

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott held a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Monday, focusing on development partnerships, investment prospects and measures to further strengthen relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The meeting covered key areas of mutual interest, including potential collaboration in education, healthcare, governance and economic investment across Balochistan. Both sides discussed opportunities for expanding international support for provincial development initiatives and institutional improvement.

Chief Minister Bugti briefed the British envoy on the provincial government’s ongoing reforms and development projects, highlighting efforts to promote peace, sustainable growth and public welfare in Balochistan. He said partnerships with global stakeholders were opening new avenues for economic progress and prosperity in the province.

The discussions also explored possible UK assistance in supporting development programmes, governance reforms and capacity-building efforts aimed at improving public services in Balochistan.
