Jaffar Express Attack: 190 Rescued, 30 Terrorists Killed in Ongoing Operation
Naqvi, Bugti Unite in Counterterrorism Efforts Amid Jaffar Express Attack
ISLAMABAD: Security forces have successfully rescued 190 passengers and eliminated 30 terrorists in an ongoing operation following the Jaffar Express attack in Balochistan’s Bolan district.
The attack, which occurred inside a tunnel in the Bolan Pass, led to a hostage situation involving approximately 400 passengers. Terrorists, including suicide bombers, used women and children as human shields, significantly complicating the rescue efforts.
The operation is still underway as security forces work to eliminate the remaining terrorists and regain full control of the area. In the meantime, a relief train has been sent from Quetta to assist 40 released hostages at Panir railway station.
Due to security concerns, the railway administration has suspended Jaffar Express services for the next three days.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has been in continuous communication with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, offering federal support in the ongoing counterterrorism operations. “Chief Minister Bugti is a courageous leader, and together, we will eradicate terrorism and its facilitators,” Naqvi stated.
