“Israel Must Be Held Accountable for War Crimes—History Will Not Forgive Inaction”: PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister Sharif said, "We are gathered here today in response to a deeply distressing event.
Doha, Qatar – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressing the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit in Doha, strongly condemned Israel’s recent aggression against Qatar and called for international accountability over war crimes. He warned that if meaningful action is not taken, history will not forgive the silence of the global community.
The emergency summit, convened in Qatar’s capital, brought together leaders from over 50 member states, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to discuss Israel’s attacks on Qatar and their broader implications for regional stability.
“Violation of Qatar’s Sovereignty Cannot Be Ignored”
In his address, Prime Minister Sharif said, “We are gathered here today in response to a deeply distressing event. Israel has violated the sovereignty and security of our brotherly nation, Qatar. Pakistan stands in full solidarity with Qatar.”
He stressed that Israel’s actions represent a dangerous continuation of aggressive behavior, and have dealt a severe blow to efforts for peace in the region.
Call for Urgent Action in Gaza
Sharif demanded immediate steps from the UN Security Council, including a ceasefire in Gaza and unrestricted access for medical and humanitarian aid. He said, “Gaza is bleeding. Humanity is in anguish. Israel must be brought to justice for its war crimes against civilians. We support the proposal to suspend Israel’s UN membership.”
“Time for Unity, Not Silence”
The Prime Minister criticized global silence in the face of repeated Israeli violations of international law, stating, “Rather than staying silent, we must stand united. After such aggression, the question must be asked: why did Israel pretend to engage in dialogue while simultaneously committing such violations?”
Support for an Independent Palestinian State
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, Shehbaz Sharif said, “We demand the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders. If we fail to act with collective wisdom now, history will not forgive us.”

The emergency summit was called to condemn Israel’s attack on Qatar and to assess its impact on regional peace and security. Leaders from more than 50 Arab and Islamic countries attended, signaling a unified response to what was described as a grave threat to the sovereignty of a fellow Islamic nation.
