Islamabad United Crush Karachi Kings by 79 Runs in Dominant PSL 10 Victory

Islamabad United’s emphatic win boosts their momentum as they head into the playoffs with strong form and confidence.

Rawalpindi – Islamabad United delivered a commanding performance in the 30th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, thrashing Karachi Kings by a massive margin of 79 runs at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Batting first after being sent in by Karachi, Islamabad United posted a mammoth total of 252 runs, setting a daunting target. Star opener Alex Hales led the charge with a blistering 88, while Sahibzada Farhan added 73 runs. Captain Shadab Khan contributed 42, with Haider Ali (19*) and Ben Dwarshuis (10*) finishing unbeaten. Rassie van der Dussen (1) and Agha Salman (7) fell cheaply.

Karachi Kings’ bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with Mir Hamza, Aamer Jamal, and Khushdil Shah taking one wicket each.

In response, Karachi Kings were bundled out for 172 runs, falling well short of the target. David Warner (43) and Abbas Afridi (34) were the only notable contributors. Islamabad’s captain Shadab Khan starred with the ball as well, taking four wickets, while Imad Wasim and Salman Irshad claimed two each, tightening United’s grip on the game.

Following this match, the PSL 10 points table sees Quetta Gladiators leading with 15 points from 10 games. Islamabad United are second with 12 points, followed by Karachi Kings also at 12 points but with a lower net run rate. Lahore Qalandars sit fourth with 11 points.
