Islamabad High Court Orders Removal of Zartaj Gul from ECL
The court instructed the Assistant Attorney General to remove Zartaj Gul’s name from the ECL and submit a compliance report within a week.
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has ordered the removal of Sunni Ittehad Council parliamentary leader Zartaj Gul from the Exit Control List (ECL).
During a hearing presided over by Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, the Assistant Attorney General presented the FIR records related to Zartaj Gul. Justice Jahangiri noted that Gul’s name appeared in two FIRs, questioning the necessity of placing political leaders on the ECL while ignoring terrorists.
Justice Jahangiri remarked, “Assembly members are being brought to court for rallies, yet their names are added to the ECL without substantial charges. I have not seen any cases of gangs or terrorists.”
Lawyer Osama Tariq Advocate confirmed that Gul is on bail in both cases mentioned in the FIRs. Justice Jahangiri observed that the charges were minor and bailable, deeming the inclusion in the ECL unnecessary.

PTI Activist Sanam Javed Vows to Fight Back Against False Cases
LAHORE: PTI woman leader Sanam Javed asserted her resilience during an appearance at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, dismissing concerns over multiple cases filed against her as political revenge.
Speaking informally to the media, PTI social media activist Sanam Javed vowed to challenge each case and secure bail wherever charges are lodged. “I am not afraid of false cases anymore. The more they file, the more they expose themselves,” she declared.
Javed, who faces approximately 200 cases, described the legal actions as attempts to silence her politically. She expressed confidence that justice would prevail soon, stating, “The time is near when all these false cases will be dismissed one by one.”
Concerned about restrictions on family visits, Javed highlighted alleged harassment for political reasons but remained resolute in her stance against suppression.
