Islamabad High Court Clears Way for PTI Founder’s Bail Hearing

Registrar's Office Objections Overruled, Case Set for Monday

Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal): The Islamabad High Court has lifted the objections from the Registrar’s Office regarding the bail application of the PTI founder in the Toshakhana reference, ordering the Registrar to arrange a hearing for the case on Monday.

During the hearing, presided over by Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, the judge questioned the reasons behind the Registrar’s objections and examined the procedural aspects of the bail request.

Justice Aurangzeb engaged with the petitioner’s attorney, Ayesha Khalid, who confirmed that the bail application related specifically to the Toshakhana 2 case.

The Registrar’s Office had expressed concerns regarding the power of attorney, which was dated from July, while the cause of action was noted in November.

In response, Advocate Shah Khawar clarified that it is standard practice to handle power of attorney documentation when a petitioner is in custody.

After a brief assessment, the court dismissed the Registrar’s objections and directed the office to expedite the scheduling of the case.

Advocate Shahina Shahab, representing the PTI founder, requested notices regarding the petition, to which Justice Aurangzeb assured that the legal proceedings would continue as required.
