ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Islamabad High Court has temporarily stopped a private medical college from charging fees higher than the officially approved limit of Rs1.8 million per year.
The decision came during a hearing led by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, following a petition filed by a student, Yemeni Yasir, who challenged the excessive fee demand. Representing the petitioner, Advocate Shafqat Abbas Tarrar argued that the college was asking for Rs2.45 million annually, which exceeds the cap set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council under the PMDC Act 2022.

After reviewing the case, the court granted initial relief and instructed the college to comply with the fee limit until further proceedings. Additionally, notices have been issued to the federal government, PMDC, and the college administration to submit their responses.
