Islamabad Citizens to Receive Major Relief with Rs14 per Unit Discount on Electricity
LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced a plan to offer subsidized Electricity to Islamabad residents for the months of August and September 2024.
Acting on directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, official notifications have been dispatched to the electricity providers in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Multan, along with the Islamabad electricity company.
Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced that individuals using between 201 and 500 units of electricity will be granted a Rs14 per unit discount for August and September.
This relief is being financed by Punjab’s budget, and other provinces are encouraged to provide similar relief using their own funds.

Islamabad – Islamabad Residents are anticipated to receive the same Rs14 per unit relief that has been announced for Punjab for August and September 2024.
Punjab Reduces Electricity Rates:
The Punjab government recently introduced a Rs14 per unit reduction in electricity bills for consumers using up to 500 units during August and September.
PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif announced this relief measure as the government redirected Rs45 billion from the developmental budget to support the public.
During a press conference alongside his daughter, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif confirmed that this initiative, which will benefit 2.5 crore consumers and total Rs50 billion, is designed to assist 94% of the country’s domestic electricity users.
