Islamabad Blast Mastermind Linked to Banned ISIS: Mohsin Naqvi

Blast Terrorists Trained in Afghanistan: Naqvi

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) — Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the mastermind behind yesterday’s Islamabad blast is affiliated with the banned ISIS and is now in custody. Security agencies, including the CTD, have arrested facilitators and other key figures linked to the attack, though one official was martyred and several others injured during raids in Peshawar and Nowshera.

Naqvi revealed that the terrorists were trained in Afghanistan and the attack was planned from there. He further claimed that India is funding terrorism in Pakistan, increasing the financial support from $500 to $1,500 per operative following the May unrest.

The Interior Minister urged citizens to cooperate with intelligence agencies, warning that the country remains in a state of war. He also stated that four terrorists have been apprehended and two individuals had conducted reconnaissance before the blast.

Addressing security challenges, Naqvi highlighted that Islamabad has 93 entry points and 80% of police in the Red Zone are above the age of 50. He warned social media platforms to close accounts linked to terrorist activities or face action.

“Pakistan will continue to foil terrorist conspiracies,” he said, noting that 99 planned blasts have been prevented so far, and that no group planning against Pakistan will be spared.
