Iran’s Guards vow response after two soldiers killed in Kurdistan.
A overnight grenade attack on a Guard post in Sarvabad leaves two dead and three injured, prompting an IRGC response.
Iran – (Sepcial Correspondent / Web Desk) – An overnight battle with armed terrorists in the western city of Sarvabad, Kordestan province, claimed the lives of two members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and injured three more, the Guards confirmed Tuesday.
Assailants threw a grenade at a Guard post close to Sarvabad’s Hezbollah Square late Monday, according to the IRGC’s Beit al-Moqaddas unit.
The incident resulted in the deaths of cleric Alireza Valizadeh and Ayoub Shiri, both described as local security personnel. Three others sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
The unit condemned the attackers, blaming “mercenary terrorists linked to global arrogance,” a phrase often used by Iranian authorities to refer to Western-backed or foreign-funded groups.
In an official statement, the Revolutionary Guards said the attack would not weaken Iran’s resolve to protect its citizens.

“The martyrdom and injury of several of the brave men of Sarvabad is proof that the security of Iran rests on the courage of selfless defenders,” the statement read.
Security forces have since launched a manhunt to capture the assailants.
