Iran Declares Boycott Of 2026 FIFA World Cup In US
TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Iran has announced that it will not take part in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be hosted in North America.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, Iran’s Sports Minister Ahmad Donya Mali stated that the country has decided to boycott the tournament due to escalating tensions with the United States.

The minister said Iran could not justify participating in a tournament hosted by the United States under the current circumstances. He added that security concerns and the prevailing situation made it impossible for the national team to compete in the global event.
Officials also emphasized that the current conditions are not suitable for Iranian players to travel and take part in the competition.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
