Interior Minister Naqvi Takes Action on Over-Billing, Orders Probe into Disco Data

The Home Minister has tasked FIA directors to gather evidence within three days for a comprehensive report to be submitted to the Prime Minister.
Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has initiated measures to address over-billing concerns, directing FIA officials to scrutinize disco data to rectify discrepancies affecting protected electricity consumers.
In a pivotal meeting chaired by Naqvi, FIA officials presented findings on over-billing issues, prompting the minister’s serious apprehension over the misclassification of protected customers. Naqvi mandated all FIA directors to meticulously examine disco data and compile a detailed report.
The Home Minister has tasked FIA directors to gather evidence within three days for a comprehensive report to be submitted to the Prime Minister. Additionally, Additional DG FIA North has been instructed to personally assess the situation in Peshawar, Lahore, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad.

Emphasizing the need to resolve discrepancies affecting protected users, Naqvi stressed the importance of accountability through thorough investigation of each piece of evidence.
The meeting, attended by federal officials and FIA leadership, highlighted a concerted effort to address consumer protection issues amid ongoing challenges in electricity billing practices.
