Rajasthan-Indian Air Force MiG-29 Crash in Barmer, Pilot Escapes Unharmed. On Monday, a MiG-29 fighter jet from the Indian Air Force crashed near Barmer in Rajasthan due to a technical issue. Fortunately, the pilot ejected safely, and there were no casualties or damage reported on the ground. The Indian Air Force shared on X that the incident happened during a routine night training mission. The pilot is unharmed, and a Court of Inquiry has been established to investigate the matter.

Barmer’s Superintendent of Police, Narendra Meena, told PTI that the MiG-29 crashed tonight in Barmer. The incident occurred in a remote area, away from populated regions. Due to challenging terrain, fire trucks have been unable to reach the crash site.

In a similar incident on June 4, an IAF Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet went down near Shirasgaon village in Nashik at around 1:20 pm. Both the pilot and co-pilot ejected safely. The jet caught fire after the crash, but the blaze was later brought under control. Debris from the aircraft was spread across a 500-meter area.

Helicopter Crash Near Kedarnath: No Injuries Reported

Following the crash, teams from the IAF and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) conducted a site visit to assess the situation.

Earlier this year, in March, a Tejas aircraft crashed near Jaisalmer during an operational training mission. The pilot ejected safely before the impact. The IAF released a statement noting, “A Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force was involved in an accident near Jaisalmer today during an operational training sortie. The pilot ejected safely. A Court of Inquiry has been formed to investigate the cause of the accident.”
