India Seal Massive Innings-and-300-Run Win Over Afghanistan

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, India posted a massive first-innings total of 564 for 8 declared, with several batters making significant contributions.
Shubman Gill led the charge with a superb 126 off 177 deliveries, striking 15 boundaries and a six. KL Rahul added a composed century, scoring 100 from 165 balls, while Rishabh Pant played an attacking knock of 81. Sai Sudharsan also made 81, and Washington Sundar remained unbeaten on 52 to strengthen India’s grip on the match.
For Afghanistan, Mohammad Saleem was the most successful bowler, taking six wickets for 140 runs. Ziaur Rahman and Hashmatullah Shahidi claimed one wicket each.

In response, Afghanistan struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack and were dismissed for 152 in their first innings, conceding a deficit of 412 runs. Rahmat Shah showed resistance with a patient 60, while captain Hashmatullah Shahidi contributed 20.
Test debutant Manav Suthar made an immediate impact, claiming impressive figures of 6 for 33. Prasidh Krishna picked up three wickets, while Washington Sundar chipped in with one.
Enforcing the follow-on, India continued their dominance as Afghanistan were bowled out for just 112 in the second innings. Opener Sediqullah Atal top-scored with 42, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz added 24, but the visitors failed to mount any meaningful challenge.
Washington Sundar led the second-innings bowling effort with four wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav claimed three as India wrapped up one of the most emphatic victories in their Test history.
