Islamabad_The Islamabad High Court Tuesday granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan while the former premier also issued bail in two other cases,

However, Khan also faced a setback in the Toshkhana case as the sessions court issued non-bailable arrest warrants against him for continuous non-appearance.

IHC chief justice Justice Amir Farooq heard the application and approved the bail plea of the former prime minister till March 9 in a case registered at Secretariat Police Station. The IHC ordered Khan to submit surety bonds of Rs100000.

Earlier in the day, the sessions court in Islamabad issued non-bailable arrest warrants for PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case for continuance non-appearance.

Here are the details of four cases that underwent proceedings today:

Attempted murder case — Imran Khan secures interim bail from IHC till March 9

Toshakhana case — Non-bailable arrest warrants issued against Khan

Prohibited funding case — Banking court grants PTI chief interim bail

Terrorism case — ATC approves former PM’s bail till March 9.

Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal ordered the issuance of the arrest warrants and adjourned the hearing of the case until March 7.

Earlier, Imran Khan appeared in court at Islamabad Judicial Complex where a large number of party supporters assembled there after removing all the barriers placed outside the complex while two courts approved his bail.

The charged PTI supporters were indulged in hooliganism and also tried to break open the gate of the Judicial Complex.

The PTI workers could be seen climbing trees and poles.

The development came as anti-terrorism and banking courts approved bails of Imran Khan.

On the other hand, PTI Chairman Imran Khan withdrew his bail petition submitted to the sessions court earlier today in a case pertaining to party protest outside the ECP building against the Toshakhana verdict.

After withdrawing his petition from the sessions court, Imran submitted his bail application to the Islamabad High Court.

However, the IHC registrar put three objections to the petition. The registrar office said that Imran’s signatures were different on two places.

It objected that the PTI chief’s bio matric was not certified. It also raised objection that why the bail application was directly submitted to the high court after withdrawing it from the sessions court.

A case was registered against Imran Khan in the Secretariat police station after PTI’s protest against ECP verdict in Toshakhana reference. Earlier, the PTI chief resubmitted his interim bail application to the anti-terrorism court in the Sangjani case. The ATC had earlier rejected his bail application on his non-appearance.

Imran also appeared before the court of Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal in Islamabad Kuchehri in the Toshakhana case filed by the ECP seeking permission to start criminal proceedings against the PTI chief.

Additional Judge Zafar Iqbal yesterday gave last chance to the PTI chief to appear before the court to seek his bail.

Imran who is recuperating from gun wound which he received during an assassination attempt on his life in Wazirabad last year, has been avoiding court hearings on medical grounds.

Imran heads to Islamabad along with supporters by road 

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had left for Islamabad from Lahore’s Zaman Park along with his supporters on Tuesday morning.

As it was raining, Imran chose to go to Islamabad by road, instead of flying to the federal capital due to inclement weather.

Several PTI leaders including Nadeem Abbas Bara, Aslam Iqbal, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and Ghulam Mahayyudin were part of his caravan.

Imran travelled on Motorway to reach Islamabad in the shape of a rally.

Jammers and other security vehicles were also included in his caravan.

It is pertinent to mention here that during previous hearing of the Toshakhana case, the banking court judge barred political supporters and other irrelevant people from entering the court due to great rush in the court.
