IHC approves Sheikh Rasheed’s Dismissal from Vulgar Language Case against Bilawal Bhutto

The former federal minister condemned what he perceived as a trend of frivolous legal actions, asserting the resilience of truth amid challenging times in Pakistan’s political landscape.

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has ruled in favor of dismissing the case against Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed, who was accused of using offensive language against PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.

Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri delivered the verdict, approving Sheikh Rasheed’s plea to quash similar cases filed in Islamabad, Mochko, and Lasbela police stations on the same charges.

Sheikh Rasheed, present during the court proceedings, had faced allegations for using derogatory remarks against Bilawal Bhutto, along with accusations of conspiracy leveled against Asif Ali Zardari, resulting in cases registered across multiple provinces.

Addressing the media post-verdict, Sheikh Rasheed criticized the proliferation of cases across different cities for the same offense, hinting at upcoming decisions regarding political candidates Yasmeen Rashid, Alia Hamza, Sanam Javed, and Barada Advocate associated with PTI.
