DUBAI: (Web Desk) – Cricket teams stranded in India following their participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 are set to return home after the International Cricket Council arranged special charter flights for their departure. The move comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East that disrupted travel plans.
According to reports, the England national cricket team, South Africa national cricket team and West Indies cricket team will travel back to their respective countries on chartered aircraft organized by the ICC.
England’s squad, which was knocked out of the tournament after losing the semi-final to the India national cricket team, is expected to depart from Mumbai for London later tonight.

Meanwhile, the West Indies and South African teams will leave India on separate charter flights from Kolkata. Reports indicate that the West Indies squad had been stranded in the city for nearly six days after playing their final match in the tournament.
Similarly, the South African team was unable to leave Kolkata after suffering a semi-final defeat against the New Zealand national cricket team. The ICC’s arrangement of special charter flights has now eased the situation, allowing the teams to finally head back home.
