Hegseth attacks ‘fat generals’ as Trump labels cities army bases
Former President Trump and his allies outline a new, controversial vision for the US military and its leadership.
US – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – In a recent meeting at the Pentagon, former President Donald Trump and his Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, shared strong criticisms of the nation’s top military leaders. They outlined a new, controversial direction for the armed forces. Hegseth began the event by attacking what he called a “woke” military culture. He defended his decision to remove several senior officers from their posts, stating they were part of a broken system.
Hegseth also made a point to criticise the physical appearance of some leaders, calling “fat generals” unacceptable. He promised to enforce much stricter fitness and grooming rules for the military, including a ban on beards. The audience in the room reportedly listened in silence. When former President Trump spoke, his long speech mixed support for troops with attacks on his political opponents. He told the military leaders that he fully supported them, but also joked that anyone who disagreed with him could leave and risk their career.
The event was quickly condemned by Democrats and other critics. They warned that using the military for political purposes is dangerous for the country. A leading Democratic senator expressed concern that the event suggested loyalty to a person was more important than loyalty to the Constitution.
“Pakistan’s Future in the Whirlpool of Debt”
This gathering follows many major changes under the current administration. Officials have banned books at military schools, fired top commanders, and launched strikes on boats. President Trump also signed an order to change the name of the Defence Department back to the “Department of War.” Recently, he announced plans to send National Guard troops into several major U.S. cities. He described these urban areas as potential “training grounds” for the military.
