ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – A powerful weather system has entered Pakistan, prompting authorities to issue alerts as widespread rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected across the country until March 30.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a strong westerly wave has moved into southwestern Balochistan, already bringing rainfall to several districts. Under its influence, heavy downpours are forecast in multiple regions, increasing the risk of flash floods, especially in low-lying areas.
In Punjab, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, dense cloud cover is expected, with authorities issuing high alerts due to potential flooding in rivers and canals.
Meanwhile, Sindh, including Karachi, is likely to experience rain accompanied by strong winds until March 29. Light to moderate showers are expected initially, followed by heavier rainfall with thunderstorms and possible hailstorms on March 28 and 29.
Upper regions are also forecast to receive rain and snowfall, along with hail in some areas, raising concerns about travel disruptions and landslides in mountainous zones.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious, particularly those living near rivers and canals, advising them to take precautionary measures or relocate if necessary. People have also been warned to stay away from electricity poles and unstable structures during storms, while tourists are advised to exercise extra care when traveling to hilly areas.
