Karachi_ Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Tuesday reiterated that the interim government would ensure holding of the upcoming general elections in the most transparent and impartial manner, accepted to all. Talking to media after visiting Mazar-e-Quaid to pay tribute and offer Fateha, the prime minister said that the caretaker government would function in the limited time frame only to ensure the election process.

They would play their part in this regard by holding transparent and impartial polls, so that Pakistan could move through its constitutional transitional period, he added. On the occasion, the prime minister was accompanied by Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tissori, Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir and the members of his cabinet. It was the maiden visit of the caretaker prime minister to Karachi after assuming his office.

The prime minister said that he along with his few cabinet members came here to pay homage to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and reaffirm to work for the progress and prosperity of the country by highlighting the social contract under which a separate state came into being.

Referring to an address of the founder of the nation on August 11, 1947 before the Constituent Assembly, he said it focused on rights of the minorities and equality among individuals.

Prime Minister Kakar expressed the optimism that the people of the country would excel in different fields on the basis of their talents and it was the future of the country.

Earlier, On the recommendation of the finance ministry, the interim federal cabinet on Tuesday fixed the amount of Diyat, which is equal to 30,630 grams of silver, at Rs 67,57,902 for the year 2023-24.

The cabinet meeting was held here under the chairmanship of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq.

In the meeting, the caretaker PM stressed that extremism and religious tension would never be allowed in the country and protection of minorities in Pakistan was part of the prime duties of the state while assuring that punishment of those involved in the Jaranwala incident would be ensured.

According to the announcement, the cabinet directed to hold an interfaith harmony conference at the national level next week in which various scholars have been invited.

According to the declaration, the conference would be an important milestone for the promotion of inter-religious harmony in Pakistan.

The statement said that the cabinet fixed the amount of diyat for 2023-24 at Rs6.7 million on the recommendation of the ministry of finance.

The federal government, with the aim of boosting trade in the country, has made the decision to establish business parks and has sought recommendations from the business community.

According to the details, the Federal Minister of Commerce and Industry, Gohar Ejaz, held a meeting with exporters and traders and decided to establish Business Parks to boost trade.

During the meeting, Gohar Ejaz stated that there are plans to establish business parks in major cities, and adopting a strategic perspective is essential to increase revenue.

He emphasized that these parks will contribute to economic growth, and every possible avenue will be explored to enhance export capabilities.

He also stated that recommendations have been sought from the business community regarding the establishment of business parks, with the goal of facilitating both local and international traders.
