Government Vows Action Against PTI Workers in Attack on Former Chief Justice

The Pakistani government has pledged to take strong measures against members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who were involved in an attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s vehicle during a protest outside the Middle Temple in London.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the incident as “unacceptable” in a statement released on Wednesday. He directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to promptly identify the perpetrators using footage from the incident.

Naqvi announced that the assailants’ ID cards would be blocked, and their passports would be revoked.

The attack occurred when PTI activists attempted to obstruct the vehicle, which is owned by the Pakistan High Commission, and reportedly tried to smash its windows. They shouted slogans as they ran alongside the car, even though it was escorted by police.

At the time of the incident, Qazi Isa was on his way to a ceremony at the Middle Temple. Senior PTI figures, including Zulfi Bukhari, Malika Bukhari, and Azhar Mashwani, spoke to party supporters protesting against the former Chief Justice at the venue the night before.
