Government respond positively if president asked PM to seek vote of confidence: Law Minister
Lahore: (Staff Reporter) Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar said the government would respond positively if President Arif Alvi asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to seek vote of confidence. The law minister said the coalition partners were firmly behind PM Shehbaz and reiterated that the elections would be held as per schedule.
As per details responding to a question regarding vote of confidence, Mr. Tarar said appropriate time is provided to seek trust vote and timing of which is decided by the Speaker of National Assembly and the leader of the House. The minister said extending tenure of caretaker government was a legal, not a political issue. Punjab would go to polls in 90 days if everything remains normal, he added.
According to the source, he further said PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed party to start preparations of elections and soon a parliamentary board would be constituted to allocate tickets to candidates.
