Global Leaders Applaud Pakistan’s Role in Iran-US Ceasefire Deal
World Praises Pakistan for Iran-US Ceasefire Diplomacy
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Global leaders and lawmakers have widely recognized Pakistan’s diplomatic role in helping secure a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, reached just before a deadline set by Donald Trump. The agreement followed high-level discussions involving Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.
Trump announced the breakthrough on his social platform, confirming the temporary truce after earlier issuing a stark warning of severe consequences if demands were not met. Shortly after, PM Shehbaz stated that Iran, the US, and their allies had agreed to an immediate ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon, and invited both sides to Islamabad for further negotiations aimed at a permanent resolution.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi thanked Pakistan’s leadership for its persistent diplomatic efforts, noting that Iran would halt defensive operations if attacks ceased. The ceasefire framework reflects proposals exchanged between both sides, creating space for dialogue.
