Gilgit-Baltistan Vows to Eradicate Drugs, Create an Ideal Province

Government’s Pledge Against Drug Abuse: Special Assistant Declares Vision for a Narcotics-Free Gilgit-Baltistan.

Gilgit: In a strong statement against drug abuse, Special Assistant on Information Iman Shah declared the government’s commitment to making Gilgit-Baltistan an ideal province free from the menace of narcotics. He lauded the efforts of the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department and the Anti-Narcotics Force in organizing a five-day anti-narcotics training program for officers and personnel.

Shah expressed confidence that the training would significantly contribute to narrowing the circle of drug dealers in the region and bringing them to justice. He emphasized the government’s resolve to take stringent action against all individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

“We will not only free society from this scourge but also ensure that those who contribute to its spread face severe consequences,” said Shah. “Our focus is on cracking down on criminal elements and creating a safe and prosperous environment for all.”

He urged everyone to play their part in eradicating drug abuse from Gilgit-Baltistan. He emphasized the crucial role of collective responsibility in building a better future for the region.

Secretary Excise and Taxation, Narcotics Control, and Transport Gilgit-Baltistan, Momin Jan, also addressed the gathering. He highlighted the department’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and rehabilitation of affected individuals.

Director Excise and Taxation Gilgit-Baltistan Abu Bakar Siddique, Deputy Director Gilgit Mir Ekhtaul Haque, Deputy Director Transport Moazzam Ali Ahmed, and Inspector ANF Arsalan Ahmed also delivered speeches reiterating their commitment to the fight against drug abuse.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and shields to officers and personnel who participated in the training program. This initiative signifies the government’s unwavering commitment to creating a safer and healthier future for Gilgit-Baltistan by tackling the issue of drug abuse head-on.
