Gaza peace deal is a historic step towards Middle East stability, says PM.

World leaders welcome a new Gaza peace deal for lasting Middle East stability.

Pakistan – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described the news of a Gaza peace agreement as a historic opportunity to achieve long-term peace in the Middle East and bring an end to the genocide in Gaza.
Taking to X (previously Twitter), the prime minister stated that US President Donald Trump’s leadership throughout the dialogue and negotiation process demonstrated a strong commitment to global peace. He also acknowledged the Qatari, Egyptian, and Turkish leaders’ diligent and careful efforts to reach an agreement.
He paid tribute to the Palestinian people, who have faced immense hardship, and stated that such suffering should never be repeated.

The premier has expressed serious concern over recent provocations at Masjid Al-Aqsa and condemned the developments. He said the world must hold those responsible — including occupiers and illegal settlers — to account and prevent any further actions that could undermine the efforts made by President Trump to reduce tensions and move towards peace.

He said Pakistan would continue to work with partners, allies and the leadership of friendly nations to help ensure peace, security and dignity for the Palestinian people, in line with their aspirations and United Nations resolutions.

Separately, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the agreement on the first phase of the Gaza Plan, which included an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and prisoners, and unhindered humanitarian aid to Gaza.

He commended US President Trump, along with the leadership of Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye, for their efforts.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent support for an independent State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
