Gas Theft Crackdown: 55 Connections Disconnected, Rs 1.3 Million Fine Imposed

LAHORE: Gas Theft Crackdown: 55 Connections Disconnected, Rs 1.3 Million Fine Imposed. In a relentless effort to curb gas theft, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) conducted extensive raids across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, resulting in the disconnection of 55 illicit connections and the imposition of fines totaling Rs 1.3 million.

In Lahore, the regional team took decisive action by disconnecting two connections found to be illegally using gas, and an additional two connections were cut off due to the use of compressors. Similarly, in Multan, four connections were disconnected for illegal gas usage, with another five disconnected for compressor usage, and fines amounting to Rs 0.166 million were imposed on gas pilferers.

In Peshawar and Karak, the SNGPL cracked down on gas theft, disconnecting 30 connections involved in direct and illegal gas usage, and levying fines totaling Rs 1.0726 million against offenders.

Further efforts in Sahiwal led to the disconnection of two connections engaged in the illegal use of gas, while in Sheikhupura, eight connections were disconnected, and fines amounting to Rs 0.0120 million were imposed for gas theft.

Lastly, in Faisalabad, the SNGPL team disconnected two connections for illegal gas usage and imposed fines of Rs 0.163 million against gas pilferers.
