Multan & Bahawalpur: 131 Illegal Connections Severed in Gas Theft Crackdown
Lahore: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has intensified its campaign against gas theft, disconnecting 254 illegal connections across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. In addition to the disconnections, fines totaling Rs 2.65 million have been levied on violators.
In Lahore, the SNGPL team took action by disconnecting 81 illegal connections, imposing a fine of Rs 0.81 million on those involved in gas theft. Faisalabad saw 29 illegal connections severed, with fines amounting to Rs 0.26 million, while Sheikhupura’s regional team disconnected 7 connections and imposed a Rs 0.31 million penalty.
The crackdown continued in Multan, where 45 illegal connections were disconnected, and 24 additional connections were severed due to the illegal use of gas compressors. In Bahawalpur, 9 connections were cut off for unauthorized gas use, and another 53 for illegal compressor installations.
Gujranwala’s team disconnected one illegal connection, imposing a fine of Rs 0.25 million, while Sahiwal witnessed the disconnection of 5 connections with fines totaling Rs 1.03 million.
