Galaxy Z Flip 8 leak suggests no major battery upgrade

Despite the lack of a major battery upgrade, the previous model received positive feedback.

SEOUL (Web Desk): A new leak suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 may not receive the battery upgrade many users were expecting.

According to reports from the blog GalaxyClub, alleged specifications linked to the device indicate that Samsung’s next clamshell-style foldable phone could retain a battery similar to its predecessor.

The leak connects two batteries, labeled EB-BF776 and EB-BF777, to the new model. Analysis by Android Authority suggests the combined rated capacity of the batteries would be around 4,174mAh, effectively the same capacity used in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.

In recent years, several Android smartphone makers have begun introducing silicon-carbon battery technology, which allows higher energy density and longer battery life. However, the Galaxy Z Flip lineup has continued to rely on a more conventional battery design, typically offering around 4,300mAh capacity.

The battery size also remains slightly smaller than the one used in the larger Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which reportedly features a battery roughly 100mAh larger.

Despite the lack of a major battery upgrade, the previous model received positive feedback. In an early review by Mashable, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 was praised for its smooth cover screen experience, strong performance, and reliable battery life.

Reviewer Adam Doud noted that while the phone is not designed to last multiple days on a single charge, its battery performance is still respectable. He added that frequent use of the external cover screen can help extend battery life.

Samsung has not officially confirmed the specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the details remain based on leaks and industry speculation.
