FO Confirms Shehbaz Sharif China Visit 23 May 2026 — PM Heads to Beijing
China & Pakistan – (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif China visit May 2026 is set to begin on May 23 and will continue until May 26. The Foreign Office confirmed the visit on Friday, saying the prime minister is traveling to China at the formal invitation of the Chinese government.
During the visit, PM Shehbaz will sit down with two of China’s most powerful leaders — President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. These meetings are expected to cover a wide range of important topics, from trade and investment to regional peace and long-term cooperation.
The prime minister will also chair a Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Conference in Beijing. This event will bring together business leaders from both sides to explore new investment opportunities and strengthen commercial ties between the two countries.
A special reception ceremony will also be held in Beijing. This event marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China — a major milestone that both governments have been celebrating with official events.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi described the visit as a key moment for both nations. He said it will help reaffirm the strength of the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership and push forward a shared vision for a closer and more connected future.
Both countries have stood by each other through tough times over the past seven decades. Their relationship has grown far beyond politics and now covers trade, industry, education, and deep people-to-people connections.
This visit comes at a time when both nations are looking to take their friendship to the next level — building smarter, stronger, and more meaningful ties for the years ahead.
