Firefighters battle massive blaze at cable manufacturing factory in Karachi

Rescue 1122 Teams Battle Blaze for Five Hours as Fire Spreads Across Factory Compound

Karachi – (Web Desk) – A massive fire broke out at a cable factory in Karachi on Friday. The blaze quickly spread and swallowed the entire factory compound. Rescue 1122 rushed five firefighting vehicles to the scene as soon as the emergency call came in.

Firefighters worked hard to push the flames back. At one point, 40 percent of the fire was under control. But it took another few hours before the teams could fully put it out. After five long hours of non-stop effort, the fire was finally brought under control.

This is not the first time Karachi has seen such an incident recently. Just days ago on March 30, a fire broke out at the Imtiaz Superstore in Zamzama, Clifton. The area is one of Karachi’s busiest shopping spots. Thousands of people visit the store every single day. Rescue teams worked for hours before they could finally control the fire there too.

Fires like these are becoming all too common in the city. Experts say poor safety measures in factories and commercial buildings are largely to blame.

Clifton Station House Officer (SHO) Naseer Tanoli said that the fire had been controlled and the cooling process had begun.

He said that police had obtained CCTV footage showing that the fire erupted at an ATM on the premises.

He said that staff initially tried to control the blaze before informing police and the fire brigade.
