FIA investigates Dr. Fazeela Abbasi for illegal clinic operations

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched legal action against Dr. Fazeela Abbasi and her beauty clinic for alleged violations of healthcare regulations and other illegal activities. The operation was carried out by the FIA Corporate Crime Circle.

According to FIA officials, Dr. Fazeela operated an unlicensed medical practice in a residential area of F-8, Islamabad. During the raid, authorities reportedly recovered unregistered and substandard medicines, highlighting violations of healthcare laws and Capital Development Authority regulations. There were also attempts to destroy evidence prior to the raid.

In addition, the FIA has filed charges of money laundering and violations of foreign exchange laws against Dr. Fazeela. Investigators discovered suspicious transactions exceeding Rs. 2.5 billion across 22 bank accounts linked to her clinic, while she declared a significantly lower income of only four to six lakh rupees.

Further scrutiny revealed multiple accounts held by Dr. Fazeela in both Pakistan and Dubai, including with MCB Bank, UBL Bank, JS Bank, and Dubai Islamic Bank. Large-scale suspicious transactions were conducted in US dollars and dirhams, with evidence suggesting use of hawala and hundi channels.

The FIA has also begun investigating the alleged facilitation of government officials to aid Dr. Fazeela’s operations. Authorities have indicated that the probe involves a wider network, and additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
