FIA Arrests Two Human Traffickers in Gwadar Operation

FIA Cracks Down on Human Smuggling in Balochistan

Gwadar – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Two human traffickers have been arrested in Gwadar, Balochistan, for trying to send Pakistani citizens to Iran through illegal sea routes, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said on Tuesday.

Human smuggling from Pakistan to Iran has been a serious problem for years. Many people risk dangerous land and sea routes in search of better jobs or to travel further to the Middle East and Europe. Reports from the National Initiative against Organized Crime show that Gwadar and other parts of Balochistan are main transit points. Traffickers often take advantage of poor and vulnerable citizens, demanding large sums of money for these unsafe journeys.

According to the FIA, its Composite Circle in Gwadar carried out special operations and arrested the suspects from different areas of the district. The agency confirmed that the accused were involved in sending citizens to Iran through unlawful sea routes.

The traffickers had charged victims Rs10,000 each for the journey. The arrests were made after victims identified the suspects. An investigation is now underway to find more details about their network.

Just last week, FIA Balochistan arrested five other traffickers in Taftan and Loralai for arranging illegal foreign travel with fake documents. These suspects charged victims millions of rupees and were sending people to Iran and Türkiye.

The FIA spokesperson added that three of the arrested suspects were on the “most wanted” list by Pakistani embassies in Iran and Türkiye. They had already helped a large number of people travel abroad illegally.
