Minister Lauds CCP’s Reforms and Capacity-Building Initiatives

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, visited the headquarters of the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) and met with Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu.

During the meeting, Chairman CCP briefed the Minister on the Commission’s recent enforcement and advocacy efforts, particularly in the housing sector. Key highlights included actions taken against deceptive marketing practices and initiatives aimed at promoting fair competition.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for CCP’s robust enforcement measures and recent achievements. He commended the Commission’s progress in reducing the backlog of court cases, recovering penalties, and implementing vital organizational reforms.

Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada also lauded initiatives such as the establishment of a Centre of Excellence, inter-agency collaborations, and capacity-building efforts to strengthen the CCP’s institutional framework and ability to tackle evolving market challenges.
