Faisal Vawda Comments on Faiz Hameed and Potential Military Custody of Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Former Federal Minister and Senator Faisal Vawda has reacted to the formal charge-sheeting of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief, Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed. In a private TV interview, Vawda stated that no one can escape the law anymore, emphasizing that while one person might face trial, their associates should also be held accountable. He mentioned that Bushra Bibi is intent on harming PTI founder Imran Khan, and suggested that he was expelled from the party for defending Khan.

Vawda also expressed that it would not surprise him if Imran Khan is taken into military custody, linking the call for civil disobedience to the ongoing trial. He noted that the events of May 9 cannot be separated from Faiz Hameed, PTI, Imran Khan, and Bushra Bibi.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Talal Chaudhry stated that the charge-sheet is not just against Faiz Hameed but also against PTI, asserting that the May 9 protests were an act of rebellion, not just a demonstration.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Mustafa Kamal highlighted that Faiz Hameed’s potential arrest is a significant event in Pakistan’s history, serving as a lesson for those who believed in unending power.
