EX PM wants resolution to injustices done to Nawaz Sharif,
PML-N legal team ready to secure Nawaz’s protective bail: Sanaullah,
LONDON /Lahore_- Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said he wanted a fair resolution to the injustices done to Mian Nawaz Sharif in the past.
Abbasi, while speaking with Dunya News following his meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif in London, said that they had a comprehensive discussion on the national issues. He said he presented his suggestions as well.
Stressing the removal of a prime minister (Nawaz Sharif) over not drawing a salary from his son, Abbasi questioned whether a bigger wrongdoing could be done.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi announced that he would not welcome the party’s supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif on his return to Pakistan.
Khaqan announced this after holding an exclusive meeting with his self-exiled party supremo in London,
After the meeting, Khaqan talked to the media and said he did not bring any message for Nawaz Sharif from anyone.
Former premier Khaqan said he met PML-N supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif as a friend of 35 years and the meeting was held in a pleasant atmosphere.
He said he had reservations about the plan for Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan and expressed his dissident opinion to the party’s supremo as well.
Khaqan also said that he was not convinced of the reception planned for Nawaz Sharif on October 21 and that he would not welcome him.
Prior to this meeting, no one at the party was aware of the presence of Shahid Khaqan in London and his agenda.
Khaqan made a surprized visit to the Hasan Nawaz’s office in London and expressed a wish to hold a meeting with Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier,
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that the party’s legal team was prepared to secure former premier Nawaz Sharif’s protective bail.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Sanaullah lashed out at the political opponents, saying, ‘‘The country would not have been dragged into the quagmire if the politicians were not subjected to the political vendetta during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).’’
‘’Even if we keep nabbing people, it will be a big injustice to the country. Those who had subjected us to the political vendetta, we did not forget them,’’ he added.
Speaking about the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the former interior minister said: ‘’This is not a big deal that the PPP is making statements against the PML-N to garner votes.’’
Last week, PML-N stalwart Mohammad Zubair said on Thursday that the party workers wanted to see Nawaz Sharif as the country’s premier for the fourth time.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Mr Zubair made it clear that the PML-N supremo’s return to the country was on October 21.
He said, “The journey of development in the country that ended in 2017 will be restarted again”.
“Nawaz Sharif, who was voted to power as the country’s premier three times, was ousted,” Mr Zubair rued.
He took a jibe at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), saying, “The PPP-led government had a flop show in Sindh. We will contest against the PPP with great verve.”
Taking a swipe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, he said, “It was harmful for the country to see the PTI chief intact as the prime minister.”
Former finance minister Ishaq Dar underscored on Monday the clarity of the party’s mission to elevate Pakistan’s ranking to the 24th largest economy globally.
During a media interaction in London following a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) gathering, Mr Dar confirmed the completion of consultations regarding PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country.
Dar asserted: “Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, aligned with the party’s transparent manifesto, will steer the country towards progress”.
PMLN leader said, “The international and certain internal entities sought to replicate country’s economic trajectory with that of Sri Lanka, but their concerted efforts were thwarted”.
