Bloemfontein: (Web Desk) – England advanced to the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2006 final after defeating Australia by 27 runs in a thrilling first semi-final, highlighted by centuries from both team captains.
Batting first, England posted 277 for 7 in 50 overs, led by captain Thomas Rew’s 110 and Caleb Falconer’s 40. Australian bowlers Hayden Schiller and Naden Corey took two wickets each.
In reply, Australia struggled despite captain Oliver Peck’s 100-run century, supported by Nitesh Samuel’s 47 and Aryan Sharma’s 34. Their innings ended at 250 all out in the 48th over.

England’s bowlers, including James Minto, Sebastian Morgan, Ralphy Elbert, and Manny Lumsden, shared two wickets each, maintaining pressure and securing key breakthroughs.
Australia’s chase faltered as they slipped from five wickets for 134 in the 32nd over to eight wickets for 207 by the 43rd over.
England will now face the winner of the second semi-final between India and Afghanistan in the final, aiming to lift the U-19 World Cup trophy.
