England Thrash India by Nine Wickets for T20 Series Win

ENGLAND vs INDIA – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – England beat India Bristol T20 clash on Thursday, cruising to a nine-wicket win to seal a dominant 3-0 lead in the five-match series. Captain Harry Brook led the charge with a blistering unbeaten 79 off just 35 balls, while opener Phil Salt stayed firm with an unbeaten 59.

Chasing a modest target of 159, England made quick work of the run chase. The hosts reached their goal in just 13.5 overs, leaving more than six overs to spare. Brook smashed eight fours and four sixes during his knock, while Salt hit nine fours and a six.

This win came only two days after England handed India their biggest T20 defeat by runs, a huge 125-run win at Trent Bridge. With the series now firmly in their grip, England only need to wait for Saturday’s final match in Southampton to complete a clean sweep.

A Big Test for India’s Bowlers

India won the toss and chose to bat first. But their batting lineup struggled once again against England’s sharp bowling attack. Fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue picked up two wickets each, keeping up their strong form from the previous match.

Young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi tried to attack early, hitting a boundary and a big six off Tongue. But the 15-year-old could not build on his start. He was caught at mid-on off Archer’s bowling for 15 runs, falling to the same bowler who had dismissed him in the last game too.

Other batters also found scoring tough. Ishan Kishan fell cheaply, and spinner Adil Rashid took a smart running catch off his own bowling to remove Abhishek Sharma. This left India struggling at 48 for 3 early in the innings.

Iyer’s Lone Fight Not Enough

India captain Shreyas Iyer tried to steady the innings alongside Shivam Dube. The pair added 53 runs together before Dube was caught in the deep off a slower ball. Iyer kept fighting and reached his second half-century of the series with a big six off Rashid.

Despite his effort, Iyer could not lift India past 158 for 7. He finished unbeaten on 80 off 49 balls, but it was simply not enough runs on the board. England’s bowlers, especially Sam Curran and Archer in the final two overs, kept things tight and gave away very few runs.

England Chase Down the Target With Ease

India’s bowler Arshdeep Singh gave his side an early boost by getting Jos Buttler caught behind for just 8 runs. But that was the only real success India had all night.

After that early breakthrough, Salt and Brook took full control. The pair built a massive unbroken partnership of 146 runs, smashing boundaries at will and never letting India’s bowlers settle. Their fast scoring meant England finished the chase well ahead of schedule, sealing another comfortable win.

With the series already won, England will now look to complete a perfect 4-0 result when the two sides meet again for the final T20 in Southampton this Saturday.
