England Announce Squad for Crucial Third Test Against Pakistan

Rawalpindi-(Sports Reporter): England have revealed their playing XI for the crucial third Test against Pakistan, scheduled to begin on Thursday in Rawalpindi. With the series level at 1-1, both teams are aiming for a decisive victory, and England has made two adjustments to their squad for the match.

Fast bowler Gus Atkinson returns to the team, adding an extra pace option to England’s attack. Meanwhile, leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed has been selected, marking his first appearance since facing India in Rajkot earlier this year. Both players are expected to play pivotal roles on what is anticipated to be a spin-friendly pitch. Left out of the final lineup are Durham’s Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts, who featured in the second Test in Multan.

England’s squad presents a blend of experience and youth, with Ben Stokes continuing to lead the side. The batting order remains intact with Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett opening, followed by Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Harry Brook. Jamie Smith keeps his place, while Jack Leach is set to spearhead the spin attack alongside Ahmed. Shoaib Bashir completes the bowling unit as another important spinner.

Heading into this decisive match, England is eager to close out the series on a high after impressive performances in the earlier Tests. Both sides will look to take advantage of Rawalpindi’s conditions to secure the series win.
