Tech billionaire Elon Musk has thrown his weight behind United States presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday following assassination attempt on the latter.
Donald Trump was addressing supporters and fans at a political rally when someone opened fire on the Republican candidate. Security personnel quickly responded to gunfire as chaos unfolded.

Moments after news of the shooting broke, Elon Musk took to social media to officially endorse Donald Trump for the upcoming US presidential election on November 5.
The billionaire is known for his leadership at automotive company Tesla and rockets manufacturer SpaceX. The controversial billionaire from South Africa expressed unwavering support for Trump. He drew parallels between Trump and other historical figures.
“I wholeheartedly endorse President Trump and wish him a swift recovery,” Musk declared online. He likened Trump’s response to adversity to that of Theodore Roosevelt, citing the former president’s survival of an assassination attempt in 1912.
Musk’s endorsement was accompanied by a defiant photo he shared of Trump on stage.
Following initial medical treatment, Trump communicated via his Truth Social account, expressing gratitude to law enforcement and offering condolences to those affected by the incident.
The billionaire described the incident in detail, concluding his message with a patriotic “GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
Musk had not publicly endorsed Trump but had been critical of Joe Biden’s administration.
