EFFECTIVE OPERATIONS AGAINST ELECTRICITY THIEVES ARE GOING ON IN IESCO REGION.
DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, ELECTRICITY THIEVES WERE FINED MORE THAN 44.86 MILLION

ISLAMABAD;(Staff Reporter)_Vigorous and indiscriminate operations against electricity thieves have been successfully carried out in all operation circles of IESCO, due to which there has been a significant reduction in the incidents of electricity theft in IESCO region. IESCO Chief Dr. Muhammad Amjad Khan said that during the month of September 2022, the operation, M&T and surveillance teams caught 3877 electricity meters during checking, from which electricity was being stolen through different methods. Out of the captured meters, 3808 meters were found slow, 65 meters were receiving direct electricity supply while 3 meters were found to have holes. For slow meters and electricity theft, fines of more than 44.86 million have been imposed on the concerned consumers against 2.05 million units and also applied FIR against the culprits in the concerned police stations. IESCO chief said that this operations will continue until the end of electricity theft from the region. And the consumers will also fulfill their moral and national duty in this campaign to report electricity theft and facilitators to the concerned SDO or Chief Executive Complaint and Monitoring Cell IESCO Islamabad numbers 051-9252933, 051- 9252934 so that timely action is taken against these elements.
