The ECP has instructed PTI to approach the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to seek the return of documents taken from the party’s office through the court.

According to Section 208 of the Election Act, 2017, it is the ECP’s duty to ensure compliance with legal standards for intra-party elections. The ECP is also responsible for verifying the issuance of certificates as outlined in Section 209-3.

The decision, which spans ten pages, was authored by Nisar Durrani, a member of the ECP from Sindh.
