KUWAIT CITY: (Web Desk) – A drone strike has damaged the radar system at Kuwait International Airport, according to reports on Sunday, raising concerns amid the escalating regional conflict.

Authorities confirmed that several drones entered Kuwait’s airspace, with one of them hitting the airport’s radar infrastructure. Emergency procedures were activated following the incident, though no casualties were reported at the airport itself.

In a separate development, Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence said the country’s air defence systems detected seven drones. Two of them were aimed at Ahmad Al‑Jaber Air Base, where the attack caused damage in nearby areas and injured three military personnel.

Officials stated that the injured soldiers received medical treatment and were reported to be in stable condition. Security forces immediately began assessing the damage and strengthening protective measures at key installations.

The drone activity comes amid heightened tensions across the Gulf region due to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and its regional adversaries. Several Gulf countries have been on high alert as missile and drone threats continue to target military and strategic infrastructure.

Authorities also noted that flight operations in Kuwait had already been suspended earlier due to the ongoing regional conflict, while investigations are underway to determine the origin of the drones and the full extent of the damage.
