MURREE: (Web Desk) – In a major policing update, District Police Officer Murree, Dr Muhammad Raza Tanveer Sipra, announced that Murree Police achieved an impressive 90 percent success rate in tackling serious crimes during 2026.
Speaking at a press conference in Murree on Monday, he shared that law enforcement arrested 12 individuals involved in murder cases and successfully rescued 17 kidnapping victims, including women and children. Authorities also recovered stolen property worth more than Rs. 11 million and returned it to the rightful owners.
The DPO highlighted that intensified operations led to the seizure of 40 kilograms of hashish and the arrest of 36 proclaimed offenders. Efforts against financial crimes resulted in the recovery of 45 tolas of gold valued at Rs. 9 million, along with Rs. 2 million in cash, livestock, and mobile phones.

To combat vehicle theft, a dedicated Anti-Vehicle Lifting Squad has been established, while action against illegal arms led to the confiscation of multiple weapons. Several dangerous suspects involved in robbery and murder cases were also apprehended.
On the technological front, the Safe City Project in Murree has been completed, featuring surveillance systems and integration with the Punjab Police emergency helpline. Public facilitation initiatives such as the Text to DPO service and a Tourism App have also been introduced.
Additionally, 17 open courts were organized across the district to address citizens’ concerns promptly. The police force has also been strengthened with the recruitment of 160 new personnel based on merit, reinforcing efforts to maintain law and order.
